In Reiki Level I, the emphasis is on learning how to keep your inner healer working optimally, improving your nutrition, the way you move and the way you manage stress. You also learn how to position your hands to pass the energy to others or to yourself and the master/teacher attunes you to the universal energy so that you can funnel the energy and pass it over. This class combines lecture, discussion and hands on. REIKI is a holistic healing method owed to Mikao Usui. The word comes from two Japanese characters: Rei, meaning universal energy and Ki, meaning the energy that animates all living beings. When Rei and Ki flow harmoniously together, optimal physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health is achieved. Blockages to the flow of energy at any one level of our being manifest with symptoms or disease. The Reiki practitioner funnels universal energy for herself or another person with the intention of supporting healing processes and deep relaxation. The class includes Reiki history and principles, review of scientific data that supports the idea of an energetic "grid" in the body, indications and research findings on beneficial effects of Reiki. These retreat-like classes also bring guidance into your life helping you to deal with any issues that have limited your capacity to experience joy and love. The class will provide you with an unforgettable experience. What do Reiki practitioners do? Reiki practitioners facilitate the process of healing though the laying on of hands. Any person can be initiated as a Reiki practitioner, regardless of beliefs, religion, culture, age, lifestyle or experience. REIKI is based on the funneling of the Universal Energy through the practitioner via the recipient, for the purpose of achieving somatic, mental and spiritual healing. Healing is more than the popular notion of removal of symptoms. Healing is a full and complete resolution of the causes of dis-ease. Healing is going back to balance. REIKI Master/Teacher Silvia Casabianca graduated and practiced as a medical doctor in Colombia, holds a master’s degree in Art Therapy from Concordia University in Montreal, is licensed in Florida as Mental Health Counselor and Massage Therapist and is a Certified Trager Practitioner. As a Reiki Master/Teacher she has taught classes around Florida. Silvia has been a pioneer in humanistic approaches to education, multidimensional healing and Art Therapy.
